11/02/2020: First National Bank of Vinita Appoints Two New Members to Board of Directors
VINITA, OK: First National Bank of Vinita announces the addition of Ross Swimmer and Larry Briggs to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Swimmer was the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation from 1975 until 1985. He then became the Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs with the Bureau of Indian Affairs within the U.S. Department of the Interior. Mr. Swimmer served as president of the Cherokee Group, L.L.C., from 1995 until 2001. He was also Of Counsel to the law firm of Hall Estill, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On November 26, 2001, he was appointed to be the Director of the Office of Indian Trust Transition, a Department of Interior office, by the Bush Administration.
Mr. Briggs is a senior financial executive with more than 50 years of experience in all phases of the banking industry, including business development, lending, and management. He has instructed at the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking, the American Institute of Banking, and the Oklahoma Bankers Association, where he served as president from 1989-1990. From 2015-2017 Mr. Briggs served on the Committee of Minority Deposit Institutions for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and was a member of the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council at the Federal Reserve Board of Kansas City in 2018.
